BJP's Vikhe Patil Engages Athawale for Support in Key Maharashtra Seats

In a strategic move to bolster the prospects of the Mahayuti alliance in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, senior BJP leader Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil met with Union Minister Ramdas Athawale on Thursday evening. The meeting, held at Athawale's Mumbai residence, was aimed at securing support for the alliance's candidates in the Shirdi and Ahmednagar South constituencies of Maharashtra.

BJP Eyes Support in Key Seats

At the heart of this political maneuvering are two crucial electoral battles: Sadashiv Lokhande of the Shiv Sena is contesting against Bhausaheb Wakhchaure of the Shiv Sena UBT in Shirdi, while Sujay Vikhe Patil of the BJP faces off against Nilesh Lanke of the NCP in Ahmednagar South. Sujay Vikhe Patil, notably, is the incumbent MP and son of Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil.

The meeting was not just a gathering of high-profile politicians but also saw the participation of district and taluka office-bearers from the Athawale-led RPI A within these constituencies. This indicates a concerted effort to rally support at both a leadership and grassroots level.

Radhakrishna Vikhe Patil, who holds the responsibility as the Mahayuti in-charge for these areas, is focused on ensuring that both seats are won by candidates of the BJP-led alliance. The Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, is looking to consolidate its position in Maharashtra through these elections.

The involvement of Ramdas Athawale and his party members is particularly significant given his earlier expressed dissatisfaction over not being consulted regarding candidate selection for Shirdi. Despite this, Vikhe Patil's outreach to Athawale underscores a strategic attempt to unify support within the alliance and leverage RPI A's influence in these constituencies to secure victory.

This political engagement between leaders of the Mahayuti alliance highlights the intricate dynamics and negotiations that underpin electoral politics in Maharashtra. As both parties work towards a common goal, their collaboration could prove pivotal in determining the outcome in Shirdi and Ahmednagar South.
