LK Advani's wife Kamla Advani dies of heart failure

New Delhi, Apr 6: The wife of veteran BJP leader LK Advani, Kamla Advani, passed away on Wednesday (April 6) after she suffered a heart attack.

"Advaniji's wife was brought to AIIMS after she suffered a heart attack. She has died," said a doctor at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.

Earlier last year, Kamla Advani was admitted to All India Institute of Medical Science (AIIMS) due to health complications.

According to sources at the premier institute, Ms Kamla Advani who was in her early eighties had complained of breathing problems following which she was rushed to AIIMS. She was admitted in the ICU for observation.

Sources said that she had been suffering from age-related problems.

Meanwhile, PM Narendra Modi took to Twitter to condole Mrs Advani's death.

"Deeply pained and saddened by Kamla Advani ji's demise. She always inspired and motivated Karyakartas & was LK Advani ji's pillar of strength," tweeted PM Modi.
