Khushbu's old tweet on Modi goes viral after Rahul’s conviction

Following Rahul Gandhi's suspension from the Lok Sabha due to his conviction in a 2019 defamation case, an old tweet by BJP leader and National Commission for Women member Khushbu Sundar has gone viral on various social media platform.

In 2018, when Khushbu was in Congress, she criticised the prevalence of corruption among those with the Modi surname, suggesting that the word 'Modi' should be redefined as 'corruption'.

BJP leader Khushbu Sundars old tweet goes viral as Rahul Gandhi convicted, disqualified

Taking to micro-blogging Twitter, she wrote, "Yahan Modi wahan Modi jahan dekho Modi...lekin yeh kya? Har Modi ke aage bhrastachar surname laga hua hai....#Modi mutlab #bhrashtachaar..let's change the meaning of #Modi to corruption..suits better..#Nirav #Lalit #Namo = corruption...''

Several Congress social media accounts have shared the tweet and questioned whether Purnesh Modi, the BJP MLA and former Gujarat minister, will file a case against Khushbu. Meanwhile, Khushbu has not commented on the tweet or deleted it.

The suspension of Gandhi from the Lok Sabha following his conviction in the 2019 defamation case created ripples as all opposition parties extended support to Rahul Gandhi and the Congress -- in the face of the huge blow-- announced a nationwide agitation.

If the conviction is not dismissed by a higher court, Rahul Gandhi is unlikely to contest in the 2024 Lok Sabha election. His Lok Sabha seat Wayanad will also go to a bypoll to fill the vacancy.
