BJP Leader Gaurishankar Agrahari Expelled After Controversial Video Emerges on Social Media

Gaurishankar Agrahari, a former district vice-president of the BJP in Siddharthnagar, has been expelled following the emergence of an alleged inappropriate video involving him and a teenage girl on social media. Agrahari has dismissed the video as manipulated and politically driven.

The video, reportedly about a week old, allegedly depicts Agrahari in a compromising situation with the girl inside a room in the Bansi tehsil area. Circle Officer Mayank Tripathi from Bansi stated that the police are aware of the situation and have initiated an inquiry.

Party's Response to Allegations

Govind Narayan Shukla, the state general secretary, issued Agrahari's expulsion order. This decision followed instructions from the party's state leadership after receiving a complaint from the district president and consulting with local leaders.

Agrahari has denied all allegations, claiming, "This video is doctored and politically motivated. I have served the party with dedication for years. This conspiracy has been hatched to malign my image. I will present my side before the leadership."

Police Investigation Underway

Circle Officer Tripathi mentioned that if it is confirmed that the girl is a minor, strict legal action will be taken against those involved under relevant laws. The investigation aims to ascertain the video's authenticity and circumstances surrounding its creation.

The BJP's decision to expel Agrahari underscores its stance on maintaining ethical conduct among its members. The party acted swiftly following internal discussions and complaints to address the controversy.
