Mumbai, Feb 6: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) seems to be on the cloud 9 when Satyapal Singh, former Mumbai Police Commissioner, joined the party ahead of Lok Sabha election 2014. On the contrary, Congress and NCP continue their fight over selecting a suitable person for the top post.

NCP and Congress, which run the Maharashtra government, reportedly failed to come to a conclusion as many IPS officers have applied for the post.

IPS officer Sudhakar Suradkar was quoted as saying, "Why should it take so much time? It should happen in a matter of minutes. They have to meet and decide and it can be done. Many police officers are themselves playing politics and that is affecting the morale of the force and naturally the political parties are interested in posting a particular officer who will take care of their vested interests."

Congress and NCP are struggling to come to a conclusion in Maharashtra

According to media reports, Congress is more lineal to appoint either Additional DG Ahmed Javed or Additional DG Vijay Kamble as Mumbai Police Commissioner. On the contrary, NCP is keen to see Anti-Terrorist Squad chief Rakesh Maria at the top post.

All these hullabaloos over the top post began when Satyapal Singh resigned as Mumabi Police Commissioner to join BJP.

Singh, who is from western UP and tipped to contest Lok Sabha election, said there was a need to back Narendra Modi to bring about a change in the nation.
