Controversy hits BJP foundation day: Modi, Amit Shah celebrate but Advani was not invited officially

New Delhi, April 6: Another controversy hit the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) when the party celebrated its 35th foundation day in the Delhi on Monday, April 6.

According to media reports, the veteran leader and one of the crucial founding members of the party -- LK Advani was not officially invited to attend the celebration. [Why did LK Advani refuse to speak at BJP's national executive meet?]

The reports claimed that Advani had received an SMS only and he was not intimated officially to attend the function. However, party president Amit Shah, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other party leaders joined the celebration.

Modi, while writing on micro-blogging site Twitter, wished all BJP leaders and workers. He tweeted, "On the BJP's 'Sthapana Diwas' my greetings to all the BJP Karyakartas and well-wishers."

"BJP's phenomenal growth is due to the efforts & hardwork of generations of selfless Karyakartas who devoted their lives to our Nation," the PM added.
