BJP Guarantees Reservation for SC, ST, OBC Communities: Amit Shah

In a series of election rallies in Telangana, Union Home Minister Amit Shah made a strong commitment to the continuation of reservations for SC, ST, and OBC communities, countering opposition claims of potential quota removal. Speaking at Kagaznagar and Nizamabad, Shah emphasized that as long as the BJP has representation in Parliament, these reservations will remain intact. This statement comes in response to allegations by the Congress party that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would end quotas if the BJP secured a significant majority in the Lok Sabha polls.

BJPs Reservation Guarantee

Shah highlighted the Modi government's use of its majority over the past decade not to scrap reservations but to implement significant changes such as the removal of Article 370, the ban on triple talaq, the prohibition of the Popular Front of India (PFI), and the construction of a Ram temple in Ayodhya. He accused the Congress of spreading falsehoods about BJP's stance on reservations and assured a "Modi guarantee" that Dalit, Adivasi, and OBC reservations would not be abolished.

The Home Minister also addressed a controversy involving a doctored video circulated on social media, implicating Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy in its dissemination. Shah criticized the Congress for allegedly reducing OBC, ST, SC reservations in favor of Muslims, a move he deemed unconstitutional. He promised that upon forming government in Telangana, the BJP would abolish Muslim reservation and enhance quotas for Adivasis and Dalits instead.

Shah accused Congress leaders of avoiding the Ram Temple consecration event due to vote bank concerns and mocked Rahul Gandhi for his holiday trips amid political heat. He further alleged that both the BRS and Congress were engaging in appeasement politics alongside AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi. Shah confidently predicted that the BJP would secure more than 10 out of 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana in the upcoming polls scheduled for May 13.

In Hyderabad, Shah reiterated his assurance on reservation continuity under BJP's governance and criticized opposition parties for their appeasement tactics. He questioned the viability of the INDIA alliance's leadership model, where leaders suggested rotating the prime ministerial position annually among themselves. Shah encouraged voters to support BJP candidate D Arvind in Nizamabad with enthusiasm.

Addressing legal challenges faced by him and other BJP leaders for allegedly involving minors in an election campaign, Shah stated his intention to contest these allegations in high court rather than lamenting over them. This stance underscores his and the party's combative approach towards both legal battles and electoral contests.
