BJP Completes Candidate List for Haryana Lok Sabha Seats
In a significant political development on Sunday, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) unveiled its candidates for four Lok Sabha seats in Haryana, marking the completion of its candidate list for all 10 parliamentary constituencies in the state. This announcement came as part of the party's fifth list of nominees. Among the notable names are Naveen Jindal and Ranjit Singh Chautala, both of whom joined the BJP earlier that day, bringing their considerable political and industrial clout to the party.

Naveen Jindal, an industrialist and former Congress Member of Parliament (MP) for Kurukshetra from 2004 to 2014, has been chosen to contest from the same constituency. Ranjit Singh Chautala, an Independent Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) from Haryana and a minister in the current BJP-led state government, will represent the party in Hisar. The list also includes Mohan Lal Badoli and Arvind Kumar Sharma, who will contest from Sonipat and Rohtak, respectively.
The political landscape in Haryana has seen considerable shifts with these nominations. Notably, Brijendra Singh, a BJP MP from Hisar, resigned from his position and the party to join Congress. Furthermore, the BJP has opted not to re-nominate sitting MPs from Sonipat, Karnal, and Sirsa. In a strategic move, former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar has been fielded from Karnal, a decision announced earlier on March 13 following his resignation as chief minister.
The outgoing Lok Sabha saw Nayab Singh Saini representing Kurukshetra; however, he recently succeeded Khattar as Haryana's chief minister. In Sonipat, Ramesh Chander Kaushik was denied re-nomination by the BJP, with Badoli stepping in as his replacement. Meanwhile, Arvind Kumar Sharma has been given another chance to contest from Rohtak.
For the Ambala-SC parliamentary seat left vacant since the demise of Rattan Lal Kataria last year, Banto Kataria has been nominated by the BJP. The party has also re-nominated its sitting MPs Rao Inderjit Singh, Dharambir Singh, and Krishan Pal Gurjar for Gurugram, Bhiwani-Mahendragarh, and Faridabad seats respectively.
In the 2019 general elections, the BJP secured all 10 Lok Sabha seats in Haryana. As the state gears up for polling on May 25 in the sixth phase of the seven-phase election, opposition parties like Congress and Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) are finalizing their candidates. The AAP has announced Sushil Gupta as its candidate for Kurukshetra in collaboration with Congress.
This round of nominations reflects a strategic reshuffle by the BJP in Haryana's political arena as it aims to retain its stronghold in the upcoming elections. With seasoned politicians and new faces alike on its candidate list, the party is positioning itself for a comprehensive electoral campaign across the state.
