Bird flu: UP Chief Secy asks health dept to be alert
Lucknow, Jan 15: Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan today asked the health department officials to remain alert with regard to cases of bird flu and take all necessary steps for warding its spread in the state.
In the event of any case of bird flu coming to light, prompt action to check and treat it be ensured, an official statement quoting the chief secretary said.

Special attention should be on keeping a check on the people coming from affected states at the airports, railway stations and bus stations, the statement said, adding that the report with regard to bird flu could be given on a toll free number. Asking for setting up rapid response teams in the districts to deal with the cases and control rooms at the state and district level for collecting all information, he also directed for making available required medical aid to those affected.
