Billionaire Harsh Goenka’s Viral Post: Lost 2 Kg Lemons, 3 Kg Honey —But Not A Single Kilo
Billionaire businessperson Harsh Goenka recently tried a well-known weight loss remedy, but if his social media post is anything to go by, it did not work as expected. The RPG Group chairman tested the popular belief that drinking warm lemon water with honey on an empty stomach helps shed extra weight and boost metabolism. However, he jokingly remarked that instead of losing weight, he only lost the ingredients.
"I was told that if you drink lemon juice with honey every morning for two months, you will lose 2 kg of weight. After two months, I had lost 2 kg of lemons and 3 kg of honey," Mr Goenka wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

His post quickly went viral, drawing laughter and witty responses from users.

After two months I had lost 2 kg lemons and 3 kg honey. 🙈
One person joked, "The only thing that got lighter was your kitchen stock! Weight loss myths never fail, but at least you got a refreshing drink out of it."
The only thing that got lighter was your kitchen stock! Weight loss myths are undefeated, but at least you got a refreshing morning drink out of it.

Another user shared a similar experience, saying, "I lost 50 kg of water along with the lemon and honey."

A humorous comment read, "Mr Goenka, it seems the lemons and honey have vanished, but the weight remains loyal. Such is the irony of diet trends!"
Mr. Goenka, it seems the lemons and honey have managed a disappearing act while the weight remains a loyal companion. Such are the ironies of life and diet fads!

Others compared it to another common weight loss belief. "The only way to lose weight with green tea is by climbing a mountain, picking tea leaves, and then drinking it," a user quipped.
But gained good sense of humor.

Nothing goes waste in this world.
While many laughed at the post, experts weighed in on the science behind the drink. Mumbai-based dermatologist Madhuri Aggarwal stated that there was no scientific proof that honey-lemon water directly leads to weight loss.
Same like Green Tea.. the only way to lose weight with green tea is to actually climb the mountain and bring back some tea leaves, boil and drink.

Dietician Anshul explained that while the drink may aid digestion and help with appetite control, it does not burn fat. She added that the combination of honey and lemon can keep a person full for longer and reduce cravings, which may support weight management.
Despite its popularity, experts suggest that sustainable weight loss requires a balanced diet and regular physical activity rather than relying on a single remedy.
