Bihar: Price hike adds 'salt' to the wound; priced at Rs 100 a Kg?

While the consumers were on a buying frenzy, the shopkeepers too were astounded. One of them, for instance, claimed that he had to buy extra stock to suffice the increasing demand for the same.
Shyam Razak, Bihar's Food and Civil Supply Minister, however claimed that these were rumours and appealed to the people not to buy salt from the black market by paying double or triple.
According to rediff.com, blaming the opposition party for the rumours, he said,"I have asked the concerned officials to inquire into rumours and take action against those found responsible for it. I asked DMs to carry raids if necessary against black-marketing of salt" said the minister .
