Bihar Paper Leak! Unhappy Candidates Tear, Loot Exam Papers Of Other Candidates Over Delay
Chaos erupted at a Bihar Public Service Commission (BPSC) exam centre when candidates disrupted the test over paper leak rumours. CCTV footage shows people tearing and snatching question papers from candidates. The disturbance began after a 40 to 45-minute delay in distributing the papers, despite officials assuring extra time to compensate for the delay.
Authorities reported that the exam officials explained to candidates about the delay, promising additional time. However, some candidates were not satisfied and demanded answers about why the sealed box wasn't opened in their room. This led to more students joining in, snatching and tearing booklets and attendance sheets.

Exam Centre Chaos
The situation worsened as rumours spread that the exam was cancelled, prompting many candidates to gather outside. One candidate reportedly looted a packet of question papers from storage, broke through a gate, and waved it outside. This caused further damage as they moved through various rooms.
The police complaint detailed how some candidates raided boxes containing question papers. They tore some papers while others ran out with them, distributing them to those gathered outside due to the commotion. The magistrate and police present managed to control the situation eventually.
Delayed Start Due to Overcrowding
Officials noted that overcrowding contributed to the delayed start of the exam. All five floors of the centre were filled with candidates, making it challenging to begin on time. Despite these disruptions, 5,674 candidates completed their exams under controlled conditions.
The authorities highlighted that some candidates' objections about sealed boxes not being opened in their rooms further disrupted paper distribution. This added to the chaos already caused by overcrowding and delays.
The incident underscores challenges faced during large-scale exams like BPSC's, where managing crowds and ensuring smooth operations are crucial. Such disruptions can lead to significant setbacks for both organisers and participants.
