Bihar DyCM Samrat Choudhary Jabs AAP For Neglecting Purvanchalis In Delhi: 'Trying To Include Rohingyas'

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Samrat Choudhary on Sunday criticised the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government in Delhi, accusing it of failing to address key issues such as water supply, sewage management, and road infrastructure, while also neglecting the interests of the Purvanchali community.

Speaking at a press conference at the BJP headquarters in Delhi, Choudhary highlighted persistent problems such as water shortages, poor sewage systems, and deteriorating roads, stating that these remain unresolved despite the AAP being in power for over a decade.

He urged the Purvanchali community, a major voter base in Delhi, to hold the AAP government accountable for its alleged failure to deliver meaningful development and meet the basic needs of the people, reported the Hindustan Times.

Choudhary also took aim at former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's handling of the Covid-19 crisis, saying, "During Covid, the former Delhi chief minister said people from Bihar and Uttar Pradesh must return to their home states."

He further accused the AAP of prioritising Rohingya and Bangladeshi immigrants over the interests of the Purvanchali community. "On the Purvanchal issue, the AAP government is trying to include Rohingyas and Bangladeshis," he alleged.

Choudhary also criticised the INDIA alliance, of which the AAP is a member, accusing it of neglecting Delhi's development and the welfare of its citizens.

"The people of the INDIA alliance are not concerned about whether Delhi has access to water, proper employment, or infrastructure," he claimed.

Addressing women's welfare, Choudhary remarked, "There were two major announcements for women, but the chief minister didn't make them. Instead, the announcement came from a party leader. This is nothing short of a dishonour to women."

He asserted that Delhi's residents are well aware of which party is genuinely working for their progress. "The people of Delhi know who is doing real work for the betterment of the city," he said.

Choudhary also praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, stating, "Under PM Modi's leadership, India is advancing, and so is Delhi."

Commending BJP president JP Nadda, he added, "JP Nadda was born in Bihar, and from the beginning of his political career, he has worked for the well-being of the people of Bihar."

"For 10 to 12 years, they (AAP) have had the government in Delhi, but there is no work to show for it. The Purvanchal community must give a fitting reply to this," he concluded.

The AAP has not yet responded to Choudhary's allegations.
