The blast, which killed three, occurred near Baranda More under Dibra police station of Aurangabad district in Bihar. The three killed are CRPF Commandant Indrajeet Singh and constables T Panna and Pawan Kumar.
The blast took place at 11 am on Monday but the injured officer could not get any medical help till 5 pm, said sources. Also, there was no ambulance at the spot and he was taken to the hospital in a local private bus. At the hospital, the officer was treated by junior doctors as none of the seniors were present.
With his injury bleeding profusely, Indrajeet kept on crying for medical help for over 2 hours. Reportedly, he requested his officials to send in a helicopter for medical evacuation and told his colleagues to save him as he had two small children and his wife to take care of, said an IBN Live report.
"I am lying here from the last two hours. There are no doctors here. Please save me or otherwise I will die. I have small kids. I am appealing to the PM, President of India to please save me. I am appealing to my DGP please help me out and save my life."
He was taken to Aurangabad Sadar Hospital and finally a helicopter was flown in from Patna and Singh was airlifted to Ranchi's Apollo Hospital in Jharkhand where he succumbed to his injuries.
DG CRPF, Dilip Trivedi refused to comment on the incident and said that the IG has been sent to the spot and will only react after he gets a report.
"Support couldn't reach in time to our DC Inderjeet and that is a matter of inquiry. We have ordered IG level investigation. We can't say anything before that," Trivedi said.
