Bihar Congress Alleges Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha Registered As Voter At Two Locations

Amidst ongoing debates over alleged voter manipulation and roll revisions, the Bihar Congress has accused Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha of being registered as a voter in two separate locations within the state. This accusation adds to the growing pressure on the Election Commission after Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi criticised the poll body for allegedly collaborating with the BJP in "vote theft."

The Bihar Congress shared screenshots on social media, purportedly from the Election Commission's portal, showing Sinha listed as a voter in both Lakhisarai and Bankipur. The screenshots displayed Vijay Kumar Sinha under EPIC number IAF3939337 at Lakhisarai and another entry under EPIC number AFS0853341 at Bankipur.

Allegations Against Deputy Chief Minister

The Bihar Congress expressed its concerns through a post on X, stating, "The biggest fraud turned out to be Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Sinha! Saheb is a voter of two places - Lakhisarai and Bankipur, Patna. Saheb has also filled the SIR form at both places. His name has also appeared in the draft at both places." The post questioned how this situation occurred and whether Sinha voted in both locations during past elections.

When ETV Bharat verified these EPIC numbers on the Election Commission's website, it confirmed that one Vijay Kumar Sinha was indeed listed as a voter in both locations. The parentage details matched; however, there were discrepancies in age and parentage names between the two entries.

Questions Raised Over Voting Rights

The Bihar Congress raised critical questions about how such an anomaly could occur. They questioned if Sinha had been granted voting rights in both locations by the Election Commission and why he filled out forms for both places against regulations. They demanded to know when an FIR would be filed regarding this alleged fraud and when a resignation would occur.

The party further accused the Election Commission of granting "double-triple citizenship" to BJP members nationwide. They claimed that multiple votes were being cast under single identities, likening the relationship between the Election Commission and BJP to "chor chor mausere bhaee" (One thief and another are like maternal cousins).

Broader Allegations of Voter Fraud

This incident comes amid accusations against Bihar Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav for possessing two EPIC numbers, with demands from the NDA government for action against him. Allegations of voter fraud have been widespread, with claims that individuals are casting multiple votes under different identities.
