Bihar Cabinet Ministers List 2026: Here Is The Full List of Mantris In Samrat Choudhary's Govt

In a major expansion of the Samrat Choudhary-led government in Bihar, JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar's son Nishant Kumar was sworn in as a minister on Thursday, alongside 30 others, at a ceremony held at Gandhi Maidan. Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Syed Ata Hasnain administered the oath of office to the new council of ministers, representing all constituents of the five-party NDA in the state.

The swearing-in ceremony was marked by the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, JD(U) chief Nitish Kumar, and senior leaders of the ruling alliance. Key figures inducted into the cabinet include former deputy chief minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, as well as seasoned leaders Shrawon Kumar and Ashok Choudhary.

The BJP-led government in Bihar was formed last month after Nitish Kumar resigned as chief minister following his election to the Rajya Sabha. He was succeeded by Samrat Choudhary, becoming the first BJP leader to head a government in the state.

The NDA in Bihar comprises the BJP, JD(U), Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) led by Chirag Paswan, Hindustani Awam Morcha headed by Jitan Ram Manjhi, and Rashtriya Lok Morcha led by Upendra Kushwaha.

While the junior alliance partners were represented in the previous cabinet sworn in last November, they are awaiting inclusion in the newly expanded council of ministers formed under Choudhary's leadership.
