Bihar: 18-Year-Old 'Conned' Into Paying Rs 2 Lakh To 'Become IPS Officer', Video Viral | WATCH

UPSC aspirants often spend years preparing to achieve their dreams, but in a bizarre incident, 18-year-old Mithilesh Kumar from Bihar tried to bypass the exam process to become an "IPS officer" by paying Rs 2 lakh.

Instead of studying for the civil services exam, Kumar paid the sum to gain access to an "official uniform" and a pistol, hoping to pass himself off as a legitimate officer.

Bihar Teen Bribes To Become IPS Officer

The National Crime Investigation Bureau's official X handle posted a video of Kumar, dressed in uniform and carrying a pistol, in Jamui, Bihar.

He was allegedly conned by a man named Manoj Singh, who promised to make him an IPS officer in exchange for Rs 2 lakh. Singh even sent Kumar, fully dressed in uniform, to a local police station to complete the charade.

At the police station, the officers noticed Kumar and jokingly said, "Come, sir, IPS. Come to Sikandara Police Station."

They then interviewed him about the incident, uncovering the scam.

The post, shared on September 20, quickly went viral, gathering over 1.1 million views and numerous likes and comments. Reactions poured in, with many expressing concern for the boy.

One person commented, "What kind of worthless people are in society, this child has been made a fool, he doesn't even understand it yet."

Another user, Ajay Jangir, added, "Whoever has cheated this child should be arrested, and strict action should be taken against him."

Ajit Nandal posted, "There should be no case against this boy, he is an innocent and naive boy. Legal action should be taken against Manoj Singh."

A fourth user remarked, "You people gave him a warm welcome. Poor guy must have felt like a real IPS for a while."

The incident has sparked debate about the need to protect vulnerable individuals from being exploited in such scams.
