Big Jolt To AAP! Ex-Minister Raaj Kumar Anand, Chhatarpur MLA Kartar Singh Tanwar Join BJP
Days after resigning from his post and cutting all ties with Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), former Minister and MLA Raaj Kumar Anand joined hands with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday. Not just him, another AAP MLA from Chhatarpur, Kartar Singh Tanwar switched sides. Both senior leaders were welcomed by Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva and National General Secretary, Arun Singh.
Raaj Kumar Anand, who hails from Patel Nagar constituency, accepted BJP's primary membership along with his wife and former Legislator Veena Anand and hundreds of their supporters.

Anand left Aam Aadmi Party after he was denied an MP's ticket during the Lok Sabha elections in 2024. He then joined BSP and contested the polls, however, he had to face a defeat. But he managed to dent AAP and Congress' alliance (INDIA bloc)'s vote share. And today, he joined the BJP.
While leaving AAP, Raaj Kumar Anand had underlined corruption inside the party as the reason for his resignation.
"AAP was born to fight corruption but today the party is stuck in a swamp of corruption. It has become difficult for me to work on the minister's post. I resigned from the post of minister and from the party as I can't connect my name with this corruption," he had said.
"From the Jantar Mantar, Arvind Kejriwal had said that the country will change once politics changes. The politics hasn't changed but the politician has changed," Anand had said when a Delhi Court denied him bail in a money laundering case related to now scrapped Delhi Excise Policy case.
