Bhopal: Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann Promises Pollution-Free & Speedy Development with AAP
"Madhya Pradesh got a double-engine BJP in power, but the gadi vehicle didn't move at all. Now, you don't need a double-engine, but a new engine like Kejriwal's." - Bhagwant Mann
In a recent political rally in Madhya Pradesh, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann made a strong case for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) as the ideal choice for the poll-bound state. The AAP leader argued that rather than continuing with what he referred to as a 'double-engine' government, Madhya Pradesh needed an entirely new engine — one that is geared towards pollution-free and rapid development.
AAP's New Engine of Development

Mann was campaigning in BJP-ruled Madhya Pradesh where assembly polls will be held on November 17. He drew attention to Delhi and Punjab, where AAP is currently in power, stating that these regions have embraced a novel model of development under Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal. "Madhya Pradesh got a double-engine BJP in power at both state and central levels, but progress has been stagnant. What you need now isn't another double-engine, but an entirely new one," asserted Mann.
He further emphasized the effectiveness of this 'Kejriwal engine', highlighting its non-polluting nature and high speed. "This engine does not spread pollution and it runs faster. The people of Delhi and Punjab have adopted this model," said Mann during his address at Mauganj in Rewa district.
Supporting AAP Candidates
The rally was organized to garner support for AAP candidates contesting the upcoming polls from various constituencies within Rewa district - Umesh Tripathi from Mauganj assembly seat; Dileep Singh Guddu from Deotalab; Varun Ambedkar from Mangavan.
Mann urged voters to seize this opportunity that comes once every five years to elect a new government by voting for AAP candidates: "I urge you to press the button on the jhadu (broom) symbol to vote for AAP candidates, thereby fulfilling the dreams of your children and safeguarding your state," he appealed.
Criticizing Family-Oriented Politics
Mann did not shy away from criticizing both Congress and BJP for their family-oriented politics. He contrasted this with Punjab where young men have become MLAs under AAP. He argued that unlike these parties, which prioritize family members over young politicians when offering tickets, AAP is committed to promoting fresh talent in politics.
The rally also featured a speech by AAP general secretary (organization) Sandeep Pathak. The upcoming election will be a single-phase polling event for the 230-member assembly in Madhya Pradesh.
In conclusion, Mann's campaign pitch was clear - Madhya Pradesh needs a change from its current double-engine government to a new, efficient engine that prioritizes rapid development without causing pollution. By highlighting the successes of Delhi and Punjab under AAP rule and promising similar results if elected in Madhya Pradesh, Mann has positioned his party as a viable alternative to the incumbent BJP administration.
