Bhojpuri Singer Arrested For Raping Minor, Posting Pics On Instagram

In a shocking incident, a Bhojpuri singer raped a minor girl and posted objectionable photos on his social media account.

The accused identified as Abhishek (21) aka Babul Bihari was arrested by the cops on Thursday, according to a report in PTI. The singer, who lived in Rajiv Nagar, took the 13-year-old victim to a hotel two years ago and raped her.

He also took objectionable pictures. However, the minor never told about the incident to anyone while distancing herself from the accused.

A senior police officer said the accused had posted the minor's pictures on Instagram a few days ago. After seeing those pictures, the family of the victim questioned the girl, who then shared her ordeal with them.

The survivor's family rushed her to the police on Wednesday.

An FIR was registered against the accused under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and Information Technology (IT) Act at Sector 14 police station after counselling the victim.

The accused was arrested within hours, police spokesperson Subhash Boken said. "He was produced in a city court and sent into judicial custody today," he added.

The native of Bihar had 27,000 followers on Instagram.
