Bharat Ratna, Atal Bihari Vajpayee passes away at age of 93

New Delhi, Aug 16: Former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee passed away at AIIMS hospital in New Delfi. He was 93.
AIIMS in its latest medical bulletin said, "It is with profound grief that we inform about the sad demise of Former Prime Minister of India Atal Bihari Vajpayee at 5.05 pm on 16.8.2016. Vajpayee was admitted in AIIMS on 11.06.2018 and was stable in the last 9 weeks under the care of a team of AIIMS doctors.

Unfortunately, his condition deteriorated over the last 36 hours and he was put on life support systems. Despite the best efforts, we have lost him today. We join the nation in deeply mourning this great loss."
Earlier during the day, several leaders including Prime Minister, Narendra Modi visited Vajpayee at the hospital. Prayers were held across the nation for the recovery of the leader.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the death of the tallest leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. PM said, "I have no words, I am filled with emotions right now. Our respected Atal ji is no more. Every moment of his life he had dedicated to the nation."
The Party has suspended all its programmes including its National Executive meeting which was supposed to be held on August 18 and 19.
