Bhagavad Gita Holds Solutions to Societal Problems, Says Amit Shah
Union Home Minister Amit Shah believes the Bhagavad Gita contains solutions to all of societys problems and should be shared worldwide.
Kurukshetra, December 22: Union Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the profound significance of the Bhagavad Gita and its universal message during his address at the Sant Sammelan in Kurukshetra on Friday. Shah asserted that the solutions to all societal problems lie within the teachings of the Gita, and it is imperative that its message reaches every corner of India and the world.

Revival of the Bhagavad Gita
Shah acknowledged the efforts of numerous seers and mahatmas who have dedicated themselves to the revival of the Bhagavad Gita throughout India's 75 years of Independence. He shared his interactions with scholars worldwide, who unanimously believe that the Gita's message holds the key to resolving global challenges.
The Message of the Gita
Referring to the Mahabharata, Shah highlighted the sacredness of Kurukshetra, where Lord Krishna imparted the teachings of the Gita to Arjuna over 5,000 years ago. He mentioned that certain intellectuals, including those associated with the defense sector, expressed their belief that widespread dissemination of the Gita's message could potentially eliminate war from the world.
However, Shah clarified that the Gita's teachings were not merely about inspiring individuals to engage in battles. Instead, they emphasized the importance of recognizing one's dharma and fighting for a righteous cause, as exemplified by Lord Krishna's guidance to Arjuna.
Personal Impact of the Gita
Shah shared his personal experiences and the profound impact of the Gita, which he learned from his mother during his childhood. He credited the teachings of the Gita for helping him navigate life's challenges without succumbing to disappointment or pain.
International Gita Festival
The Union Home Minister highlighted the significance of the International Gita Festival, which has been organized annually since 2016, following Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision for such an event. This year, Assam serves as the partner state for the festival.
Cultural and Religious Renaissance
Shah commended Prime Minister Modi's efforts in reawakening the sense of self within India during his tenure as Prime Minister. He emphasized the BJP's commitment to upholding the nation's culture and incorporating it as a guiding force in policymaking.
Shah cited the successful abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the region's complete integration with the rest of India, as a significant achievement. He also mentioned the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, the Kashi Vishwanath corridor in Varanasi, the Mahakal Lok corridor in Ujjain, and the inauguration of the Mata Sharda Devi temple in Kashmir as notable accomplishments of the NDA government.
Shah concluded his address by highlighting the installation of the Sengol, a historical scepter from Tamil Nadu, in the Lok Sabha chamber of the new Parliament building, as a testament to Prime Minister Modi's dedication to preserving India's cultural heritage.
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, yoga guru Ramdev, and Swami Gyananand Maharaj were among the dignitaries present at the event.
