Paedophiliac principal who evaded arrest in Bengaluru, now in Kuwait school!

Bengaluru, Dec 3: An alleged child sexual offender, who had spent 13 months sentence in a Bengaluru jail for forging documents, is now living as a teacher in a Kuwaiti school !

A Newsminute report says that Paul Meekin, a British citizen, who was arrested for sending lewd messages to a 13-year-boy on Facebook in 2012, is still living as an educator in Kuwait, interacting with children from across the world.

Meekin was arrested in February 2012 while he was working as a Principal at a school in Bengaluru for having online sex chats with a 13-year-old boy. He was also accused of misbehaving with an 8-year-old child in Goa.

However, he was convicted by the Bengaluru court only for fraud and forgery, but not for child sexual assault, a more serious offence. Cases against him under Section 23 of the Juvenile Justice Act (cruelty to a child) and Section 67 of the IT Act (publishing obscene information in electronic form) are still pending, says the report.

The report says that Meekin is now working in Kuwait under the name Dr Colin Cornes at the Universal American School. Allegedly he is a Class 6 social studies teacher at the school.

The Newsminute report says that Meekin had joined the school in August 2013 and worked there till June 2014. He was asked to leave the school as he didn't have necessary documents, says the report.

In August 2014, he had joined another school in Kuwait under the same name. At the Hayat Bilingual school too he was called Dr Colin Cornes.

After Meekin was arrested in Bengaluru, the police had found out that he was a fraud and had no Ph.D as he had claimed. Subsequently, Meekin was convicted for fraud and served a sentence of 13 months of imprisonment in Bengaluru before walking out on bail on March 1, 2013.

Although the court issued two arrest warrants against him for not appearing in court, Meekin is still elusive. Shockingly,the Bengaluru police too seem to be quite unaware of his whereabouts.
