UP: Locals end up in high spirits as truck carrrying beer turns turtle

Bareilly, Nov 1: For the locals here this was a blessing in disguise or even 'manna from heaven' as a truck carrying strong variety of

turned turtle on the bypass.

What followed next was mayhem, chaos and of course people in high spirits. According to a report in TOI (read here) as soon as news about the ruck spread, people rushed from their homes carrying whatever they could to collect the beer.

Some were seen carrying cans, tumblers, mugs and even polythene bags. As locals consumed the liquor, soon the fest turned out to be a brawl and the police officials had to be called.

The accident took place late on Thursday night on the bypass that connects Lucknow to Delhi. According to the reports, some even carried cartons of the liquor into their cars before the police could reach the site.

Eyewitnesses said that not only locals and people from the neighbouring village but even commuters made the accident site their pitstop as they gulped down a few sips of the drink.

Police officials arrived later on the scene and managed to control the situation and a case was registered.
