Terrorists Shoot Dead Policeman Outside His House in Baramulla District
A policeman, Head Constable Ghulam Mohammad Dar, was shot dead by terrorists outside his house in the Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir. He succumbed to his injuries at a nearby hospital.
In a tragic incident, terrorists shot dead a policeman in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Tuesday. The deceased official, identified as Head Constable Ghulam Mohammad Dar, was a resident of Kralpora in the Pattan area. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital following the attack but succumbed to his injuries.

According to officials, Dar was attacked outside his house where he had just returned from duty. "Injured Police Personnel #succumbed to his injuries & attained #martyrdom. We pay our rich tributes to the #martyr & stand by his family at this critical juncture. Area has been cordoned off. Search operation going on," said Kashmir Zone Police in an online post.
A relative of the slain policeman, Abdul Hamed Dar shared that the terrorists fired thrice at Ghulam Mohammad Dar who was standing on the main road outside his house's gate when he was shot down.
The Victim’s Family and Career
Ghulam Mohammad Dar is survived by his wife and seven daughters. He wasn't on leave at the time of attack; he had just come home after completing his duty shift for the day," Abdul Hamed further added.
The Wreath-Laying Ceremony
A wreath-laying ceremony for Ghulam Mohammad Dar took place at DPL Baramulla where top police, army and CPRF officials paid their tributes. This unfortunate incident marks third such terrorist attack within as many days in Kashmir Valley.
Reactions from Political Leaders
Omar Abdullah, National Conference vice president expressed deep sadness over constable's death stating it as another indicator of terrible price that Jammu and Kashmir Police personnel are paying in the fight against terrorism. Former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Peoples Democratic Party president, Mehbooba Mufti condemned the killing and expressed concern over the unfortunate rise in such attacks.
Jammu and Kashmir BJP spokesperson Altaf Thakur called it a dastardly act of terror while Apni Party president Altaf Bukhari said that this fresh spate of attacks is quite worrying.
In conclusion, this tragic incident has once again brought to light the challenges faced by security forces in maintaining peace in the region. The loss of Head Constable Ghulam Mohammad Dar is indeed a great blow to his family as well as to the force combating terrorism on ground zero. As authorities continue their search operation for those responsible for this cowardly act, it's hoped that they will be able to ensure long-lasting peace and calm in Jammu & Kashmir.
