The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) annually releases a list of bank holidays. These holidays fall into three categories: Negotiable Instruments Act holidays; RTGS holidays when real-time gross settlement isn't available; and bank account closing days at the year's end. The holiday list is crafted considering state festivals and local traditions to meet regional needs.
Checking Bank Holiday Lists
To know when banks are closed in your city, visit the RBI's official website (rbi.org.in). You'll find a comprehensive list sorted by state and date there.
In June 2025, there are additional dates when banks will be closed: 22nd June for Kharchi Puja (only in Tripura), 23rd June as a weekly holiday (Monday), 29th June as a bank holiday, and 30th June for Remna Ni (only in Mizoram). Plan your banking activities accordingly towards the month's end.
