Alternative Banking Options

Despite branch closures, banking services won't halt completely. You can still perform transactions using net banking, mobile banking, ATMs, and UPI during these two days. Services like fund transfers and balance checks will remain fully operational.

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) annually releases a list of bank holidays. These holidays fall into three categories: Negotiable Instruments Act holidays; RTGS holidays when real-time gross settlement isn't available; and bank account closing days at the year's end. The holiday list is crafted considering state festivals and local traditions to meet regional needs.

Checking Bank Holiday Lists

To know when banks are closed in your city, visit the RBI's official website (rbi.org.in). You'll find a comprehensive list sorted by state and date there.

In June 2025, there are additional dates when banks will be closed: 22nd June for Kharchi Puja (only in Tripura), 23rd June as a weekly holiday (Monday), 29th June as a bank holiday, and 30th June for Remna Ni (only in Mizoram). Plan your banking activities accordingly towards the month's end.

Utilising Digital Banking Services

If branches are closed, there's no need to worry. In today's digital age, almost every bank offers online services around the clock. You can complete essential tasks using these services: transfer money via net banking; pay bills through mobile apps; make payments with UPI; withdraw or deposit cash at ATMs. These services don't require waiting for branches to open.
