B'lore: Six convicted in BU gangrape case
A 21-year-old student of National Law School of India University was allegedly raped by eight-member gang inside the Jnanabharathi campus of Bangalore University and also assaulted the male friend who accompanied the victim October last year.

Of the eight accused, the University limits police arrested seven - Shivanna, Yellaiah, Eeraiah, Doddeera, Maddura and Rama, besides a juvenile delinquent. While the juvenile is being tried under the Juvenile Justice Act, the eighth accused, identified as Raja, is absconding.
The court completed the trial in 20 days and charged six accused under abduction (366), gang rape (376 -2G), dacoity ( 397) and assault ( 323 and 324).
