Prime Minister, Narendra Modi said at the all party meeting on Jammu and Kashmir that the priority would be to liberate Pakistan occupied Kashmir and help those protesting atrocities in Balochistan.

This has given all activists a fresh lease of life and many have now come forward and urged India to raise these issues at the United Nations. Prime Minister Modi during his Independence Day speech also expressed gratitude to the people of Balochistan, PoK and Gilgit who had thanked him for supporting them.

Balochistan: Atrocites by Pakistan

The people of Balochistan in particular have been seeking support from India against the atrocities committed by Pakistan. Take for instance the case of activist, Dr Sanaulla Baloch. On February 14, 2015 he was asked to visit the Pakistan army camp. He had registered a complaint that his son Saddam was missing.

On February 18, 2015, Dr Sanaulla's mutilated body was found on the road side. This is just one of the many horror stories from Balochistan where thousands of activists are locked up and tortured in army camps.

To make matters worse for the freedom fighters of Balochistan, the Chinese are being used by Pakistan to crush the movement.

The world needs to see

Pakistan had recently said that in Balochistan the National Action Plan must be implemented. However, Baloch leaders such as Dr Allah Nazar say that the plan is an eye wash. Pakistan has planted the Lashkar-e-Taiba, Taliban and the Lashkar-e-Jhangvi in Balochistan to crush the movement.

Further military courts have been set up and 152 cases are referred to it. It is for the world to see these atrocities and act, he also says.

Further complaints are made about the presence of the Chinese. The leaders accuse the Chinese of funding and aiding the Pakistan army to crush the movement.

A huge presence of the Chinese soldiers can be found at the Gwadar port where Pakistan has awarded 3,000 acres of land. China has also been accused of genocide in Balochistan.

Dr Nazar while speaking about the role of India says that it is a very important one. India must understand the importance of a free Balochistan.

For India to get the superiority of the waters, a free Baloch is very important. He also says that it is the moral duty of India to support the Baloch people.
