Baby Girl Born With 26 Fingers And Toes In Rajasthan, Family Believes She Is A Miracle
A baby girl born in Rajasthan with 14 fingers and 12 toes has astonished doctors and her family. The infant, who was born at a community health center in Kaman, Bharatpur, has seven fingers on each hand and six toes on each foot.
The condition, known as polydactyly, is a genetic disorder in which a baby is born with extra fingers and toes. It is one of the most common congenital abnormalities, affecting about 1 in 500 babies.

The baby girl's family believes that she may be the reincarnation of a Hindu goddess. They are overjoyed by her birth and have named her Lakshmi, after the goddess of wealth and prosperity.
Doctors have reassured the family that the extra fingers and toes have no adverse effects on the baby's health. However, she may need surgery to remove them later in childhood to avoid potential health issues.
It is not yet known whether the family plans to have the surgery.
Polydactyly is a treatable condition, and most children with polydactyly live healthy and normal lives.
