Babbar Ali rapes Dalit woman, forces her to convert to Islam to get married

A youth named Babbar Ali is accused of raping a Dalit girl and forcing her to convert to Islam.

Lucknow, Feb 07: A case of Love Jihad has come to light from Greater Noida in Uttar Pradesh. A Hindu woman has lodged a complaint against one Babbar Ali of gang raping her and forcing her to convert to Islam to get married.

The incident is reported from Jarcha Kotwali area in Greater Noida, according to a report. As per the complaint, Babbar Ali used to visit the Dalit woman's house and they gradually turned friends. With time, he trapped her in love and developed a physical relationship on the pretext of getting her married.

One day, Babbar asked her to come to his another house where his friend was also present. Then together gang raped her. He also threatened her to kill her if she files a complaint. He then started forcing her to convert to Islam if at all she wants him to tie the knot with her.

When she went to the police station to file the complaint, the cops initially refused to lodge a complaint and registered only after her complaint letter went viral on the internet.

A complaint has been filed and the investigation is underway, Additional DCP Greater Noida Dinesh Kumar Singh said.

In a similar case reported a few weeks ago, Afzal, who used to give tuition in Banda, trapped the Hindu girl and then ran away. He then raped her and forced her to change her religion, as per a report.

The victim's family filed after she went missing following which the cops started investigating the case and arrested Afzal. The report further claims that the accused has been booked under sections of rape, POCSO, and the Religion Conversion Act.

The victim's family alleged that Afzal is a resident of the Hamirpur district and ran away with the girl on Monday afternoon. The girl was traced on Friday. When the cops spotted her, she was seen wearing a burqa.

The girl then informed the police that Afzal had raped her and pressurised to change her religion. Based on the complaint filed by the police, the cops arrested him and sent him to jail.
