Manish Tripathi, the designer of Ram Lallas outfit in the newly constructed Ayodhya temple, shares his divine connection with the deity that guided him in creating the exquisite attire. From the selection of materials to the intricate embroidery, Tripathi reveals the challenges and inspirations behind his remarkable work.
In the heart of Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh, lies the newly constructed Ram temple, a testament to the devotion and perseverance of millions of devotees. At the center of this sacred space resides the idol of Ram Lalla, adorned in an exquisite outfit that exudes both grandeur and divinity. The designer behind this remarkable creation, Manish Tripathi, shares the story of his divine connection with the deity and the challenges he faced in crafting this masterpiece.

Material and Design: A Blend of Tradition and Elegance
Tripathi explains the meticulous process of selecting the perfect material for Ram Lalla's outfit. "We procured a pitambari yellow cloth, a color traditionally associated with Lord Vishnu, from the holy city of Kashi Varanasi," he says. The fabric, a blend of silk, gold, and silver wires, adds a touch of opulence to the ensemble. The intricate embroidery features Vaishnavite symbols, paying homage to the deity's lineage.
Challenges: Balancing Grandeur and Divinity
Tripathi faced a daunting task in conceptualizing and creating an outfit that would embody both the grandeur of a prince and the divinity of a god. "The biggest challenge was to design a cloth that would befit the majesty of a king and the reverence of a deity," he explains. Through fervent prayers and divine guidance, Tripathi found the inspiration he needed to create an outfit that exceeded all expectations.
Living Up to Devotees' Expectations
As a native of Lucknow, Tripathi understood the profound significance of the Ram temple to millions of devotees who had waited over 500 years for its completion. "I was acutely aware of the immense expectations people had for every aspect of the temple, including Ram Lalla's attire," he says. The designer's dedication and divine connection allowed him to create an outfit that resonated with the hearts of devotees, evoking a sense of pride and fulfillment.
Appreciation and Fulfillment
Tripathi's greatest reward came from the heartfelt appreciation of those closest to him. "The most gratifying response was from my mother and wife," he says. "Their smiles and tears of joy were the ultimate validation of my efforts." The designer's journey of faith and creativity culminated in a masterpiece that perfectly encapsulates the essence of devotion and divinity, leaving an indelible mark on the history of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
