Ayodhya Rape Case: Allahabad High Court Requests DNA Report of Foetus Amid Bail Hearing
The Allahabad High Court has requested the DNA analysis of a foetus in the Ayodhya rape case. This request came during the bail hearing of Moeed, a 71-year-old accused. Justice Pankaj Bhatia, from the Lucknow bench, instructed the Director of the Forensic Science Laboratory to provide the report within a week.

Moeed, who owns a bakery, was arrested by Uttar Pradesh Police on July 30 along with an employee in Ayodhya's Pura Kalandar area. He alleges political motives behind his implication and claims he hasn't received any documents related to the case. The state government, represented by Additional Advocate General VK Shahi, opposed Moeed's petition, highlighting the gravity of the case involving a minor victim.
DNA Testing and Legal Proceedings
Following the incident, the victim became pregnant and underwent an abortion. A sample from this procedure was sent for DNA testing. The court has now asked for this DNA test report to be submitted. The next court session is scheduled for September 30.
In a statement made in the UP Legislative Assembly, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath mentioned that Moeed is affiliated with the Samajwadi Party. This political angle adds another layer to the ongoing legal proceedings. The case continues to unfold as authorities work through these complex issues.
