Axis My India Exit Poll Jharkhand 2024: INDIA Alliance To Win 52 Seats, NDA To Secure Just 23 Seats

The Axis My India Exit Poll for the Jharkhand Assembly elections 2024 has projected a dominant victory for the ruling INDIA alliance. The alliance, comprising the Congress, JMM, and other regional parties, is set to win 53 seats, securing a commanding lead in the 81-member assembly. With the majority mark at 41, the INDIA alliance is on track to comfortably retain power in the state.

On the other hand, the BJP-led NDA is expected to secure just 25 seats, significantly trailing behind the ruling alliance. Smaller parties and independents are projected to win 3 seats, highlighting their limited influence in this election cycle.

Key Predictions from the Axis My India Exit Poll:

  • BJP+: 25
  • JMM-Cong+: 53
  • Others: 3

Total seats: 81, Majority mark: 41

This projected result solidifies the INDIA alliance's dominance in Jharkhand and indicates a strong voter preference for the current ruling coalition. The poll suggests that despite challenges, the INDIA alliance has maintained a strong foothold, with a significant lead over the opposition.

The 81-seat Jharkhand Assembly held elections in two phases on November 13 and 20, with results scheduled for November 23. Historically, no single party has secured a majority in the state's previous assembly elections.

In this year's contest, the ruling JMM-led INDIA alliance is fighting to retain power against the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), which seeks to unseat the Soren government.

The two-phased election witnessed intense competition between the constituents of the INDIA alliance and the BJP in Jharkhand.

In the 2019 Jharkhand election, the JMM-Congress-RJD alliance secured 47 out of 81 seats, with the JMM emerging as the largest party, winning 30 seats. The BJP, despite securing the highest vote share, could only manage 25 seats.

Jharkhand's assembly is composed of 44 general seats, 28 reserved for Scheduled Tribes, and 9 reserved for Scheduled Castes, reflecting the state's significant tribal population.

The INDIA alliance is working to solidify its tribal support base while also seeking to attract other voter groups by highlighting the welfare initiatives implemented by the state government.

The BJP, on the other hand, has focused its campaign on tribal identity, emphasizing concerns about "Bangladeshi infiltration"-a veiled reference to Muslims-and warning that the state's identity could be under threat from external influences. Prime Minister Modi and other BJP leaders have intensified this rhetoric as part of their election push.
