Attempt to woo Dalit votes? Akhilesh declares public holiday in UP on Ambedkar's death anniversary

Lucknow, Apr 14: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav today declared public holiday on death anniversary of Dr Bhim Rao Ambedkar which falls on December 6.

Highlighting the contributions of Dr Ambedkar, Yadav announced public holiday in the state on his death anniversary on December 6.

Earlier, he garlanded Dr Ambedkar's statue at Ambedkar Mahasabha here on his birth anniversary today and remembered his contribution towards society.

Equality in society can be attained and economic development can be ensured by following the path shown by Dr Ambedkar, he said on the occasion.
