Attempt To Murder Case Filed Against Jagan Mohan Reddy, 4 Others, Including IPS Officers
Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister and YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) chief Jagan Mohan Reddy, along with two IPS officers and two retired officials, has been implicated in an attempted murder case. The case was filed by Andhra Pradesh Police following a complaint by Telugu Desam Party (TDP) MLA K Raghurama Krishna Raju from Undi assembly constituency.
The IPS officers named are PV Sunil Kumar and PSR Sitaramanjaneyulu, and the retired officials include R Vijay Paul, a former police officer, and G Prabhavati, former superintendent of Guntur Government General Hospital. The complaint alleges "custodial torture" against Raju, prompting the police to register the case under multiple sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), including 120 B, 166, 167, 197, 307, 326, 465, 506, and 34.

The incident dates back three years and was registered at Nagarampalem police station in Guntur. Raju, arrested in May 2021 amid the second Covid-19 wave, accuses Reddy and officials of orchestrating a conspiracy against him. He claims mistreatment during arrest, including denial of medical care despite recent heart surgery, and accuses officials of falsifying medical reports.
Raju's allegations have sparked a legal and political controversy in Andhra Pradesh, highlighting tensions between the ruling YSRCP and opposition TDP.
