At Deepotsav, Yogi Adityanath Calls for Transformation of Kashi and Mathura Like Ayodhya

Uttar Pradesh's Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath, made a significant appearance at the Deepotsav event in Ayodhya, emphasizing the bright future he envisions for Kashi and Mathura, akin to Ayodhya's splendor. On this occasion, he highlighted the pivotal role of Ayodhya as a testament to the promises fulfilled by the double-engine government. Adityanath's presence at this grand celebration was not just ceremonial but underscored a strong message of commitment towards the development and preservation of these holy cities.

In a historic event that marked a new chapter for Ayodhya, the inauguration of the grand Ram Temple earlier this year signified the end of a 500-year hiatus, with Lord Ram finally taking his place in his abode for Diwali. This momentous occasion followed the 2019 Supreme Court verdict that resolved the long-standing temple-mosque dispute, allotting the contentious land for the temple's construction and providing a separate plot for a grand mosque to the Muslim community. Yogi Adityanath remarked on this significant achievement, "This is a historic first as after 500 years, Lord Ram is now in his abode in Ayodhya for Diwali."

Adityanath's vision extends beyond the present, looking forward to the year 2047, marking 100 years of India's independence, where he envisions Kashi and Mathura gleaming just as Ayodhya does today. Legal battles currently underway in Varanasi and Mathura over the Kashi Vishwanath-Gyanvapi and the Krishna Janm Bhoomi-Shahi Eidgah mosque disputes respectively, underscore the complexities involved in realizing this vision. Nonetheless, Adityanath's confidence in the double-engine government's promise to deliver is unwavering.

Echoing the sentiments of a celebrated leader, Yogi Adityanath stressed the importance of overcoming the challenges that lie ahead, "Remember, this 'agnipariksha' of Maa Sita should not happen again and again. We have to come out of this (bane)… The people of Ayodhya must come forward once again (for this). This is why we are here today for this grand celebration."

The Chief Minister also paid homage to the countless individuals who dedicated their lives to the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. "I bow to all those saints on this occasion, and to the martyrs, around 3,50,000 in number," he said, acknowledging their ultimate sacrifice for the cause of constructing Lord Ram's temple in Ayodhya.

This year's Deepotsav in Ayodhya not only celebrated the festival of lights but also marked a significant milestone in the journey of Ayodhya, Kashi, and Mathura. With the consecration of Lord Ram Lalla on January 22, after centuries of anticipation, Yogi Adityanath reminded everyone, "This is just the beginning and this beginning has to reach its logical conclusion."
