Assam CM hits out at Rahul Gandhi, seeks his arrest
Taking to X, formerly known as Twitter, Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma "These are not part of Assamese culture. We are a peaceful state. Such 'naxalite tactics' are completely alien to our culture. I have instructed @DGPAssamPolice to register a case against your leader @RahulGandhi for provoking the crowd & use the footage you have posted on your handles as the evidence."
This is not it. In a series of tweets, Sarma has slammed Rahul Gandhi for spreading misinformation among the people of Assam.
"What a man - the program was in Meghalaya but he is abusing Assam," wrote Sarma on X in an another post.
Sarma has also shared evidence where Rahul Gandhi can be seen instigating violence against police. Taking to X, Biswa wrote, " Evidence is emerging as to how Rahul Gandhi and Jitendra Singh instigated the mob to kill Assam Police personnel. Our soldiers are servants of the public, not of any royal family. Rest assured, the law has a very long arm and will definitely reach you."
On Tuesday, approximately 5,000 Congress workers, including Rahul Gandhi, were intercepted while attempting to enter Guwahati as the party resumed its flagship 'Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra' in Assam.
Subsequently, clashes ensued between party workers and police, resulting in the breaking of police barriers and police resorting to a lathi charge to disperse the crowd. During a gathering near the Guwahati border, Rahul Gandhi stated that while his party would not break rules, it didn't imply weakness, asserting that Congress workers are resilient.
Before departing for Guwahati, the former Congress chief accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of instructing the Assam CM to prevent him from meeting students, a scheduled event for the day.
