New Delhi, Sept 6: The self-styled godman Asaram Bapu has now demanded that a female physician should be allowed to monitor his health inside the Jodhpur jail premises everyday.

According to reports, 72-year-old Asaram has requested jail officials to allow him to be monitored by a female ayurvedic vaidya.

DCP Ajay Pal Lamba told reporters that Aasaram's application for a female ayurvedic doctor has been forwarded to the concerned authorities and the jail management.

His lawyer has reportedly submitted his request to the Jodhpur court so that a female doctor can check his health for two hours a day.

Asaram has made various demands including that of home-cooked food and a bed.

His son, Narayan Prem Sai told reporters that his father seeks only ayurvedic treatment as he doesn't believe in allopathic medicines.

Earlier, Asaram has asked for gangajal (holy water), puja items, herbs and books inside the prison. He had also created ruckus over not accepting water without a drop from his bottle carrying gangajal.

Ever since his arrest, Asaram has made various demands including that of home-cooked food and a bed.

Considering his 'old' age and health, a plea has been sent in the court to fulfill his demands.

The spiritual guru Asaram Bapu was arrested from Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on charges of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in his Jodhpur ashram on the night of August 15.

Presently, he is in judicial custody till September 16.
