Asaram's aide Shilpi gives in, surrenders after a month
While the godman is already in police custody since September 2, he is sinking deeper into trouble with each of his aides giving in one by one.
First, it was Shiva, his personal attendant, who said that the godman met women regularly in his "meditation hut" for healing sessions. Then, the threat call records, submitted by the girl's family, proved that things were murkier than they were.
Meanwhile, renowned lawyer Ram Jethmalani, who has taken up Asaram's case, argues that the 16-year old girl was unstable and needed help. He , however did not produce any evidence, which was pointed out by the prosecution. Furthermore, to strengthen the prosecution's case, Asaram's aides revealed that he did spend an hour with the girl in the hut on the pretext of exorcizing evil spirits.
