As Shinde Paves Way For Fadnavis To Be Maharashtra CM, BJP Leader's 'Lautkar Wapas Aaunga' Speech Goes Viral

Devendra Fadnavis is poised to become the next Chief Minister of Maharashtra. This follows the BJP-led Mahayuti's decisive victory in the state elections, which were initially anticipated to be a close contest between two coalitions. Caretaker CM Eknath Shinde announced his support for the BJP's choice, paving the way for Fadnavis's return.

An old video of Fadnavis from 2019 has resurfaced online, capturing his poetic assertion of a political comeback. In a special assembly session, he declared, "Mera Paani utarata dekh mere kinare pe ghar mat basa lena, mai samandar hoon, lautkar wapis aaunga..." This translates to "Don't build a house on my shore after seeing my water receding; I am an ocean, I will return."

Political Landscape and Support

The BJP's central leadership has reportedly endorsed Fadnavis as the next CM. On November 25, a senior BJP leader informed Shinde over the phone about this decision. Consequently, Eknath Shinde resigned on November 26, clearing the path for Fadnavis's leadership.

In response to this development, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde) MP Naresh Mhaske expressed readiness to accept Devendra Fadnavis as Maharashtra's chief minister if Mahayuti decides so. He remarked that their party differs from Uddhav Thackeray's faction, which might withdraw if not given the chief minister post.

Historical Context and Coalition Dynamics

The video dates back to when BJP and undivided Shiv Sena contested Maharashtra assembly polls together in 2019. They secured a majority, positioning Fadnavis for another term as CM. However, Shiv Sena later allied with NCP and Congress to form the government instead.

This political shift led to Fadnavis delivering his memorable speech in the assembly. His words hinted at determination and resilience amidst changing political tides. The clip has gained renewed attention as he prepares for another tenure as chief minister.

Fadnavis's anticipated return marks a significant moment in Maharashtra politics. With backing from both Mahayuti and BJP leadership, his leadership seems imminent. The unfolding events highlight shifting alliances and strategic decisions shaping the state's political landscape.
