Here is why Pakistan squirming over India hosting G20 Summit

There has been a sustained attempt by forces from outside to disrupt peace in India as the country holds the G20 Summit.

An Intelligence Bureau official tells OneIndia that more such attempts would be made to incite violence in India and this is being done with a clear intention of putting India in poor light as world leaders visit the nation for the summit.

Take for instance the Poonch attack. It was a well orchestrated attack ahead of the meet. Countries such as Pakistan want the attention diverted from the fact that India is hosting such an important summit.

Another official says that India should at this time be on the highest state of alert as more such attacks would be planned. An Intelligence report said that the moment India indicated that events would be held in Srinagar, the attacks were planned. The report also said that the Poonch attack was carried out with an intention of trying to force India into cancelling these events. The Jaish-e-Mohammad and Lashkar-e-Tayiba which are Pakistan's proxies have been told to ramp up operations ion Jammu And Kashmir, the report also noted.

Not just Kashmir, but the focus of Pakistan has also been on Punjab, where it tried to rake up the Khalistan issue. The sequence of events that led to the dropping of Amritpal Singh into Punjab were clearly that Pakistan was trying to orchestrate trouble. Fortunately, the issue has died down for now with the arrest of Singh.

Even the naxalite attack at Dantewada in Chhattisgarh was timed in such a way that it shows the security forces in poor light. While this attack may not be linked the ones in Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, it still was an attempt to show the country in poor light.

While the G20 Summit is one part of it, the other issue is that Pakistan is facing one of its worst crisis in recent times. The floods, the fall of the economy and the increasing Chinese debt are all issues that it would want diverted. Hence striking in India is something that Pakistan would look to do more often in a bid to divert attention from its own problems.

Furthermore the Afghanistan issue is also something that has not gone exactly right for Pakistan. The revolt by Imran Khan against the army is also another hot topic in Pakistan. These incidents that Pakistan is orchestrating in India all have the blessings of the Pakistan Army, the source cited above said.

A counter-terror expert said that India will not be deterred by such incidents. The agencies will need to watch out for such sporadic attacks as Pakistan will not relent. However this would not deter India from going ahead with its plans. As the old saying among the security agencies goes, 'the agencies have to get it right all the time, but the terrorists need to get it right just once.'
