Arvind Kejriwal Thanks Supporters In Heavy Rain As He Leaves Tihar Jail: 'Prisons Cannot Weaken Me'

Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal walked out of Tihar Jail on Friday after nearly six months in custody. Addressing Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) supporters who had waited for hours in heavy rain, he expressed gratitude to God and the people. "First of all, I thank God with whose blessings I am standing here. I thank lakhs and crores of people who came here in this heavy rainfall," Kejriwal said.

Kejriwal was granted bail by the Supreme Court in a corruption case filed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) related to an alleged Delhi liquor scam. He emphasised his resilience, stating, "They put me in jail to break my morale, but my morale is higher than ever; prisons cannot weaken me." He added that his strength and morale had increased significantly since his release.

Arvind Kejriwal's Determination

The AAP leader vowed to continue fighting against forces he believes are trying to weaken the nation. "Every drop of my blood dedicated to nation. I faced difficulties but God has always been with me," he declared. Kejriwal was arrested by the CBI on June 26 and had challenged his arrest in the Delhi High Court before taking it to the Supreme Court.

On July 12, the Supreme Court granted him interim bail in a money-laundering case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), which had arrested him on March 21. The apex court imposed conditions on Kejriwal, including restrictions on visiting his office or the Delhi Secretariat and signing official files without obtaining the Lieutenant Governor's sanction.

Support from AAP Leaders

AAP leaders Sunita Kejriwal and Manish Sisodia criticised the BJP, accusing them of orchestrating a plan against Kejriwal. The BJP responded by demanding his resignation and calling him a "bail wala CM." Despite these challenges, Kejriwal remains steadfast in his commitment to his political mission.

Kejriwal's release has invigorated his supporters and strengthened his resolve to combat what he describes as "anti-national forces." His speech resonated with many who see him as a symbol of resilience and determination in Indian politics.
