Arrest Made in Bihar Murder Case

Confession and Motive

The accused, Qazim Ansari, 40, is a resident of Supaul Bazar locality where the former minister’s ancestral home is located. During interrogation, Ansari admitted to borrowing Rs 1.5 lakh from Jitan Sahni against a piece of land he owned. He confessed his involvement in the crime due to his inability to repay the loan and reclaim his land.

According to a police statement released on Wednesday evening, Ansari revealed that he and his associates entered Jitan Sahni’s house on the night between Monday and Tuesday. They demanded the land documents from Sahni. When Sahni refused to hand over the documents, Ansari began stabbing him with assistance from his associates.

Investigation and Arrest

A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed by the district police to probe the case. The team swiftly acted on leads and detained four individuals for questioning. Following Ansari's confession, a case has been registered against him and his associates. Efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend his accomplices.

The brutal killing of Jitan Sahni, aged 70, at his home in Darbhanga district has sent shock waves across Bihar. The incident has sparked criticism from opposition parties towards Nitish Kumar's government regarding the state's law and order situation.

Police are continuing their search for Ansari's associates involved in the murder. The investigation remains active as authorities work to bring all responsible parties to justice.

The tragic event has drawn significant attention and concern from both local residents and political figures in Bihar. The community is awaiting further developments as police continue their efforts to resolve the case fully.
