Arrest BJP Leader Parvesh Verma: CM Atishi Alleges Money Distribution Ahead Of Delhi Assembly Elections 2025

With the Delhi assembly elections 2025 round the corner, the ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) have engaged in a war of words. On Wednesday, several BJP leaders claimed that AAP's women empowerment scheme, under which every woman above the age of 18 will get Rs 2100 per month, is false and unapproved.

BJP leaders presented a notification as proof, published by the Delhi Government's Department of Women and Child Welfare Development, that reads "a political party is claiming to distribute Rs 2100 per month under Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojna, but no such scheme has been notified by the Government of Delhi."

AAP was also quick to hit back. Scrapping BJP's accusation, CM Atishi demanded to arrest of BJP leader and former MP Parvesh Verma, who is poised to contest Assembly Election against Arvind Kejriwal from New Delhi seat, over cash for vote allegations.

Showing some photographs, CM Atishi alleged that the BJP leader called women from slum colonies at 20 Windsor Place and distributed cash Rs 1100 to them. "Money is being distributed along with BJP's pamphlets," she said.

She requested the Election Commission to raid the BJP leader's house and claimed that officials would surely find crores of rupees in his place.

CM further said that BJP has realised that they are going to lose the upcoming Delhi election 2025, adding that AAP will file complaints with Delhi Police and EC highlighting a cash for vote case.

How The Matter Came To Light?

It was reported that a woman, coming out of bungalow number 20 at Windsor Road, officially issued in the name of Ex-MP Parvesh Verma, BJP is giving Rs 1100 under the Ladli Yojana. Many women voters said that BJP leaders also asked them to elect the Lotus this time.

"We have received this money under the scheme and this is the first time we have been given something like this," a woman said showing her identity card and currency notes.
