Army Foils Infiltration Attempt In J&K's Kupwara; 2 Terrorists Gunned Down In Operation Pimple

Indian Army neutralised two terrorists on Saturday after launching Operation Pimple in the Keran sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara.

This operation, named Operation Pimple, is ongoing as officials continue to search the area. The Chinar Corps confirmed this development in a post on X, stating that the security forces have successfully neutralised the terrorists and are continuing their search efforts.

Earlier intelligence inputs prompted the Indian Army to launch a coordinated operation in the Keran sector on November 7. The troops aimed to intercept suspected infiltrators based on these specific inputs. During their search, they noticed suspicious movements. When challenged, the terrorists responded with indiscriminate gunfire, leading to an engagement where they were eventually trapped.

Security Forces' Vigilance

The Chinar Corps shared details of the operation on X, mentioning that contact was established with the terrorists after they opened fire. The operation is still active, and further updates are awaited. This incident follows a similar event on October 14 when two terrorists were killed by the Indian Army while attempting to infiltrate across the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara district.

The LoC in Jammu and Kashmir stretches for 740 km, while the International Border covers 240 km. The LoC passes through Baramulla, Kupwara, Bandipora in the Valley and parts of Jammu district. Meanwhile, the International Border runs through Jammu, Samba and Kathua districts in Jammu division.

On October 14, alert troops noticed suspicious activity along the LoC in Kupwara district. Their vigilance led to thwarting an infiltration attempt by two terrorists who were subsequently killed. Such incidents highlight ongoing security challenges in this region.

The Indian Army continues its operations along these borders to prevent infiltration attempts. These efforts are crucial for maintaining security and stability in Jammu and Kashmir amidst ongoing threats from across the border.
