Armed Robbers Steal Rs 9.5 Lakh Cash from Manappuram Gold Loan Office in Gurugram

Five armed robbers looted Rs 9.5 lakh in cash from a Manappuram Gold Loan office in Gurugram. The incident occurred at gunpoint just before closing time, with police now investigating through CCTV footage.

On Saturday evening, five armed individuals disguised as auditors robbed Rs 9.5 lakh in cash from a Manappuram Gold Loan office on Sheetla Mata Road, according to police reports. The employees have not yet confirmed whether any jewellery was taken during the heist. Police are actively pursuing the suspects by reviewing CCTV footage and setting up barricades at key intersections, stated Sukhbir, SHO of Sector 5 police station.

Just before the office was set to close, a security guard and two employees were present when two men arrived around 6 pm, claiming to be auditors. Shortly after, two or three more men entered and began the robbery by threatening the staff and security guard with firearms, according to the SHO.

Police Efforts and Investigation

The robbers used motorcycles for their getaway, which they parked some distance from the scene. They completed the robbery within 10 minutes and fled, leading the branch employees to immediately alert the Sector 5 police station. An FIR has been filed, and efforts are underway to identify the culprits using CCTV footage.

"We have put up barricades at many places in the city," said Sukhbir. The police are determined to capture those responsible by closely monitoring all possible escape routes and scrutinising surveillance videos for clues about their identities.

The swift response from law enforcement aims to prevent further incidents and ensure public safety. Authorities are urging anyone with information about the robbery to come forward as they continue their investigation into this bold crime.
