Bengaluru, June 14: After high drama, largely in social media the home department accepted the resignation of Deputy Superintendent of Police, Kudligi, Anupama Shenoy. Shenoy has wrote two resignation letters, both of which are in possession of OneIndia.

In one resignation letter written on June 4, Shenoy said "I have continuously made efforts to uproot supply of illicit liquor in my subdivision through exercising stern actions. But the mafia in Kudligi Taluk of Bellary district is hugely powerful and many low rank officers have surrendered to the mafia."

Anupama further wrote protest demonstration that was staged against her in Kudligi was a political one. In her letter, Shenoy also took the name of Bellary district-in-charge minister saying protests were done under the influence of labour minister Parameshwar Naik. She also said some officers in the police department too allegedly influenced protesting mass to do so.

She expressed in her letter submitted to Home Department that she has failed to thwart protest and is ready for any punishments by the department. In her final statement she said "I am distressed by the developments and hence decide to resign from the post."

However interestingly in another letter written on the same day, Anupama cited personal reasons for her resignation. She wrote "Due to personal reasons I am unable to work in the department thus tendering my resignation." This letter contains a seal of police superintendent office and this was the letter accepted by the home department.
