Uttarakhand Govt Accused of Inaction in Ankita Bhandari Murder Case
Ankita Bhandaris mother, Soni Devi, has alleged that the Uttarakhand government is not taking action against BJP leaders named in the murder case. She claims the names of BJP MLA Renu Bisht and the then Sub-Collector have surfaced, but no action has been taken.
In a heart-wrenching plea for justice, Soni Devi, the mother of Ankita Bhandari, who was allegedly murdered by the owner of the resort where she worked, has accused the Uttarakhand government of failing to take any action against BJP leaders whose names have surfaced in the case.

Allegations of BJP Involvement
In a video message, Devi alleged that the names of BJP MLA from Yamkeshwar, Renu Bisht, and the then Sub-Collector of the area have emerged in connection with the case, yet the state government has refrained from taking any action against them. State Congress President Karan Mahara amplified Devi's concerns by questioning when Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami will address the tears of Ankita's mother.
Devi further claimed that a "VIP" being discussed in the case is BJP leader Ajaey Kumar, and no action has been taken against him either. She expressed her distress over the state government's actions, which include filing a false case against social worker Ashutosh Negi, who has been assisting Devi in the case, and transferring his wife to Pithoragarh.
Demand for Justice
Devi issued a stern warning that if the case against Negi is not dropped promptly and his wife's transfer is not revoked, she will take drastic measures, even sacrificing her own life. The tragic incident that unfolded in September 2022 saw Ankita, a receptionist at Vanantra Resort in Ganga Bhogpur, allegedly pushed into the Chilla Canal near Rishikesh by resort owner Pulkit Arya and two of his employees, Saurabh Bhaskar and Ankit Gupta.
It was alleged that Ankita's refusal to engage in a physical relationship with a "VIP" led to her untimely demise. State Congress President Karan Mahara emphasized the need for a thorough investigation under the supervision of a serving judge of the High Court.
BJP's Response
In response to the allegations, BJP's state media in-charge Manveer Singh Chauhan dismissed the Congress's claims as retaliation for their continuous electoral defeats. He accused the Congress of engaging in "low-level politics" and asserted that they have no genuine concern for Ankita or her family.
Chauhan alleged that the Congress is attempting to tarnish the reputation of BJP leaders by exploiting the emotional statements made by Ankita's family. He warned the Congress that the party will seek legal recourse if unsubstantiated allegations continue to be leveled against its leaders.
The Ankita Bhandari murder case has sparked outrage and raised serious questions about the involvement of influential individuals. As the investigation unfolds, the demand for justice for Ankita and her family remains paramount. It is crucial that the authorities conduct a fair and impartial investigation, ensuring that all those responsible for this heinous crime are held accountable, regardless of their political affiliations or positions of power.
