Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel Emphasises Role of Anganwadi Centres in Child Development
Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel recently highlighted the importance of Anganwadi centres in fostering the comprehensive growth of young children. During a public event, she stressed that a child's initial development starts at home with the mother's care, according to an official statement.

Role of Nutrition and Health
Governor Patel warned that neglecting nutrition during pregnancy could result in a child's weakness. She compared nurturing children to how farmers tend to their crops, emphasising the need for dedication. "Just as a farmer cares for his crops, we must nurture our children with the same dedication," she stated.
She also mentioned that around 200 types of viruses, including those causing TB and cancer, might be present from birth. However, these can be managed with a balanced diet. Her remarks underscored the significance of nutrition in preventing diseases.
Government Initiatives and Achievements
The governor referred to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's commitment to eradicating TB in India. She noted that over four lakh TB patients have been successfully treated in Uttar Pradesh alone. This achievement reflects the state's efforts in combating the disease.
During the event, Governor Patel praised the Anganwadi children's performances. "It is commendable that children younger than the age when most hesitate to hold a microphone gave such wonderful presentations," she remarked. Their confidence and skills were evident through their presentations.
Distribution of Resources and Support
On this occasion, Governor Patel distributed various resources and support materials. These included 100 Anganwadi resource kits and five loan approval letters under the CM Yuva Udyami Yojana. Additionally, 50 Ayushman cards and nutrition kits were given to 50 TB patients.
Certificates under different government schemes were also awarded to numerous beneficiaries. These distributions aim to support community members and enhance their well-being through government initiatives.
The event highlighted the state's commitment to child development and health improvement through Anganwadi centres and government schemes. Governor Patel's emphasis on nutrition and early childhood care underscores their vital role in shaping future generations.
