Andhra Pradesh: Pawan Kalyan Critiques Home Minister Anitha Amid Rising Crimes Against Women
Andhra Pradesh's Deputy Chief Minister, Pawan Kalyan, has openly criticised Home Minister Anitha from the Telugu Desam Party. He accused her of failing in her duties and warned that he might have to "take over the home department as well" if there is no improvement. His comments came after a rise in crimes against women, including a recent assault on a three-year-old.
During a rally in Pithapuram, Kalyan expressed his dissatisfaction with the current state of law and order. He stated that Andhra Pradesh should handle security like Yogi Adityanath's Uttar Pradesh. "I am telling home minister Anitha too. You are the Home Minister. I am the Panchayati Raj minister, Forest and Environment minister. Discharge your duties well or I will be forced to take over home department as well," he said.

Political Tensions Rise
Kalyan's remarks have sparked speculation about potential discord within the ruling alliance. However, Narayana, another senior minister in Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu's cabinet, defended Kalyan's right to address issues and guide ministers appropriately. This public criticism has led many to question the stability of their political partnership.
The actor-politician emphasised that political leaders and MLAs have responsibilities beyond seeking votes. He urged them to act like Yogi Adityanath to bring about change. "You need to be like Yogi Adityanath... Political leaders, MLAs are not just here to ask for votes," he added, receiving enthusiastic applause from the crowd.
Jana Sena's New Initiative
Kalyan recently announced a new initiative within his Jana Sena party called 'Narasimha Varahi Brigade.' This wing is dedicated to safeguarding Sanatana Dharma. He stated his respect for all religions but firmly stands by his beliefs. "I respect all religions, but I stand firm on my faith," he declared on Saturday.
He also warned those who criticise Sanatana Dharma on social media or speak disrespectfully about it would face consequences. This move aligns with his pro-right stance and aims to protect traditional values amidst growing criticism online.
Kalyan further asserted that if he were to oversee the home department, significant changes would occur. He believes adopting a stricter approach similar to Uttar Pradesh could lead to improvements in law enforcement and public safety in Andhra Pradesh.
